The unveiling ceremony of TZCO SOUTH AFRICA (PTY) LTD. was successfully held in Johannesburg, South Africa, on June 22. This milestone marks a further step in the global strategic expansion of Taiyuan Heavy Machinery Group Co., Ltd. (TZ), extending the group's overseas footprint to core regions across Africa.

Representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises in South Africa, local South African business leaders, and TZ's partners attended the ceremony. Entrusted by Tao Jiajin, Party secretary and chairman of TZ, Han Yuming, the group's chief marketing officer, attended and delivered a speech.

Wei Dongze, secretary-general of the South Africa-China Economic and Trade Association, and Du Qiqi, deputy general manager of Bank of China Johannesburg Branch, were among the distinguished guests in attendance.

A key partner under the Belt and Road Initiative, South Africa boasts abundant mineral resources, ranks among Africa's top economies, and occupies a strategic geographic position, making it a vital hub for Chinese enterprises expanding into African markets.

Based in Johannesburg, Taiyuan Heavy Industry South Africa will leverage South Africa's geographic strengths and industrial resources to build a continent-wide marketing and service network. It will also strengthen localized technical support, after-sales operation and maintenance, and spare parts supply systems, boosting the group's service response speed and customer service capacity across Africa.

At the ceremony, Han said the group extended gratitude to all guests and long-term partners that have supported TZ's global business growth.

He said that with a 76-year legacy in equipment manufacturing, TZ has established a worldwide R&D, marketing and service network, exporting products to more than 70 countries and regions.

The group has cultivated the South African market for over a decade, having delivered large mining equipment to the country starting in 2012. Its robust products are well-suited to Africa's harsh operating conditions and have won widespread market recognition.

Looking ahead to African business expansion, Han said Taiyuan Heavy Industry South Africa will focus on three core priorities: localized service support, customized equipment R&D, and fulfillment of local social responsibilities, to deepen pragmatic cooperation between China and South Africa.

Guests then jointly unveiled the new company plaque. Secretary-General Wei Dongze delivered a congratulatory address on behalf of the association. All parties pledged to maintain close collaboration to support TZ's long-term development in Africa and advance high-quality China-Africa economic and trade cooperation.

China-Africa economic and trade ties have grown deeper in recent years, with numerous Chinese manufacturers contributing to Africa's industrialization. Having operated in Africa for years, TZ has supplied heavy machinery to multiple landmark African projects, delivering robust equipment for local infrastructure improvement and manufacturing upgrading.

Going forward, TZ will position its South African subsidiary as the regional operational hub for Africa, adopt operations tailored to the region's demanding working conditions, and provide customized equipment solutions.

The official launch of its South African arm represents a pivotal step in the group's global expansion roadmap. TZ will continue to consolidate its presence in key overseas markets, upgrade its global service system, facilitate China-Africa industrial capacity cooperation with high-end heavy equipment, and steadily implement its internationalization strategy.
